More DA fun! Prototyping!

At this stage in creating our digital artefacts, we are going through the steps of:

Thinking
Observing
Defining
Ideating
Prototyping
Making
Breaking
Remaking

In view count and in the increase of subscribers, followers and interactions, Get Grilled on paper is doing well. With now 5k views across two videos, with a third video coming this weekend. Lauren and I do struggle to produce videos consistently. We often face scheduling conflicts that results in the audience receiving a video randomly, instead of regularly. We need to improve this if we want to generate more traffic to our channel. Although we understand that we have been extremely lucky to have an instant social media following, primarily due to Lauren’s Instagram promotion, we recognise that the quality of our videos and the quality of production and management has to improve if we want to keep any kind of audience watching, invested or even interested. If we want to grow at all, we need a variation in the themes of the videos we upload, not just ‘sit down, talk’ videos.

Video suggestions from Instagram helped us shape the first two videos and for our third, we didn’t ask for suggestions, instead chose a pop culture love we share, the IT franchise.

I have been hesitant to incorporate more adult content in videos as I’m very aware (perhaps paranoid) about the importance of leaving a clean digital footprint. I’m more resistant to producing content that involves, for e.g, alcohol, as I see it as something that could potentially tarnish our social media presences. Clean-cut YouTube appeals to everyone and still offers the same professionalism.
